BABY STEPS YOU CAN TAKE TODAY 


The beginning of a school year is exciting—but for teachers and directors, it can also feel like there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. You may have new ideas you’d love to explore, resources you’d like to add, or even a new production you’d love to tackle, but when your schedule is already packed, it’s easy to put those ideas off until you “have more time". 


Whether you have 15 minutes or 3 hours, we encourage you to take a small step today. No need to tackle a whole production; just one song, scene, or comedic sketch will do nicely!


Why not today?

A Few Places to Start in the Singles Tab


🎵 Need a song?


A stand-alone song can be an easy way to introduce new material without committing to an entire production. Here are just a few:

🎭 Have a small group of students?


A scene can give a handful of students an opportunity to perform without requiring an entire cast. Here’s just one idea:

😂 Looking for something short and sassy? 


A comedy sketch can be a great fit for a class, Chapel, assembly, special event, or simply a rehearsal activity that gives students a chance to perform. Here’s one of our favorites: 


  • Prayer Meeting

📖 Want something slightly more substantial?


Our straight plays offer another option when you're looking for a complete story without taking on a full musical. Here’s an option: 



Group in suits and costumes on a dark stage, laughing and holding folders.

It doesn't have to be a big event. The setting doesn't have to be a special performance that you've organized from scratch. Try a song for Chapel, a scene in class, or a sketch at a parent night. The easiest way to make room for the arts is to use a moment you already have.


You don't have to figure everything out today. You may genuinely have zero margin left. But maybe there is one small step you can take—a song to try, a scene to rehearse, a sketch to pull out—that could benefit your entire school community.


It doesn't have to be a big step. It just has to be a step.
