Honoring the Lord with High-Quality Scripts and Songs

As we steward God’s gift of storytelling, it is important that we present our best work.

Everybody wants to be involved in a high-quality storytelling experience. We believe Christian storytellers should have ready access to well-crafted scripts and songs that honor the Lord – both in content and in form.

At Faith Based Student Musical, we seek the best of both worlds – Biblically grounded content, High-quality form – in the development of our scripts and songs. This means we remain firmly rooted and accountable in our Christian communities while we study the crafts of playwriting and composing from the best in the business, regardless of their worldview. 

Let's all be lifelong learners. As one of our Parables songs says, we must, "Use it or Lose it." As you and your students use your gifts unto the Lord, with excellence, we encourage you to produce scripts and songs that match in caliber. By raising the bar together, we honor the Lord.

Today we're going to talk about the value of well-crafted scripts and songs.

Because God invented these things and has called us to be stewards of these things we want to take expert care to craft good work and present excellent work that honors him.

Everybody wants to be part of a well-crafted piece. Everybody wants to sing a well-crafted song [and] be in a well-crafted play.

How do we harness that power and learn that?

I believe half of this is in God's space because of the magic of story and the magic of music that is inexplicable...that moves us in ways that we cannot understand ourselves.

The other half of that is a craftsmanship that's going on underneath... that is [uh] in the space of the songwriter... and the playwright... and the film writer... and the one who knows all kinds of ways to write seamlessly in order to draw us in and to help us experience those sorts of artistic offerings in the powerful way they're meant to be presented.

Let's all be lifetime learners. There are so many resources out there for us to learn from. This does not have to be daunting or intimidating with your busy life and all your responsibilities and all the hats you wear...

...But just to be a student of the art that the Lord has entrusted you with, so that we're always growing and developing in our craft.
